Define zip line

zip line. An elevated and inclined wire from which a pulley and a one-person seating apparatus are suspended allowing the person to move between two points by the action of gravity. Used in some places, such as rain forests, as a tourist attraction. Participating in this type of activity is called "zip lining." Also called "Tyrolean crossing." When the angle is steep, sometimes called a "death slide."
