INTERNET MARKETING CENTER

Judging from the email and phone calls I receive, a lot of you are thinking about or actively exploring ways to take your travel business onto the Internet.

That's why I am especially pleased that Corey Rudl's Internet Marketing Center is sponsoring this issue of the newsletter. Corey's materials helped me take my web initiatives from a standstill to where they are producing annual revenues well into six figures.

So whether you want to use the Internet to promote your travel business or perhaps to start another, sideline business that will practically run itself, take advantage of Corey's wisdom. This material is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

AND SPEAKING OF THE INTERNET . . .

Among the inquiries I received this month were some very basic questions about setting up web sites. So let me refer you once again to what I believe to be the best all around guide to setting up a web site for your business.

It's called "Poor Richard's Web Site" by Peter Kent and, as the title would suggest, it is geared to the do-it-yourselfer. But even if you are having a professional web designer do your site, I strongly recommend reading this book. It is filled with nitty-gritty, common sense talk about what an effective web site is all about and why some of the "bells and whistles" that web designers love can actually harm your business.

My only reservation is Kent's recommendation to use Microsoft FrontPage as a web authoring tool. I found it to be an incredibly anti-intuitive and frustrating program to work with. Once I switched to Dreamweaver, things got a lot easier.
